Sunday, 25th July 2010

This Sunday, the Cartier International Polol takes place at Guards Polo Club, Windsor Great Park. The England team will take on New Zealand for the Coronation Cup.

This year’s event marks Cartier’s 26th year of sponsorship of this world-famous sporting event. Cartier first sponsored the International Day in 1984. Today, the Cartier International Day is the world’s largest spectator polo day, attracting some 25,000 guests and establishing itself as one of the most glamorous and prestigious sporting days of the British social calendar.

To mirror the talent on field, Cartier has invited over 600 guests from the worlds of literature, stage, screen, sport and society for lunch in the Cartier marquee prepared by leading chef, Anton Mosimann. Monies raised from this great day of polo will be divided between three key charities – the British Forces Foundation, the HPA’s Polo Charity Trust and the Prince’s Trust.

Arnaud Bamberger, Managing Director of Cartier, sums up the importance of this event to Cartier: “Cartier and polo are the perfect marriage. The sport of kings and the ‘king of jewellers’, as conveyed by Edward Vll, come together for the English summer season finale on Cartier International Day. It is the ultimate sporting occasion; the exceptionally talented players, the surroundings of Windsor Great Park and the wonderful company, all make this a very special day.”

With such a wealth of talent both on and off the field at Guards Polo Club, the Cartier International Day promises to be the highlight of the British social summer calendar.
