Bell & Ross BR01-92 Compass

Limited Edition of 500 Pieces

The BR01-92 Compass watch takes its inspiration from aircraft cockpits where each instrument is a reference point in terms of readability, reliability and performance.

Following the BR01 Radar, the watchmakers at Bell & Ross turned their attention to another cockpit instrument display, the navigation compass. Bell & Ross has borrowed this tool’s precise, instantaneous display mode and adapted it to a watch.

The case, in stainless steel (shot-peened) with black PVD finish, measures 46mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 100 meters.

Movement is the Swiss automatic ETA caliber 2892-A2 with disc disply system (two concentric black discs, the outside one indicating the hours and the inside one indicating the minutes). Numerals and index are covered in SuperLuminova.

To counterbalance the weight differential generated by using discs instead of hands, Bell & Ross created ultra-light discs that do not impinge on either the power reserve or the accuracy of the watch. Both discs are distortion-proof to avoid even the smallest risk of friction. Specific materials and new techniques had to be developed to meet these dual challenges.
